Word of the Week: Shun
Dictionary:verb (used with object), shunned, shun·ning.
To keep away from (a place, person, object, etc.), from motives of dislike, caution, etc.;
The teenagers Shun from police, while leaving drunk at the house party last night.
Your sentence doesn't quite work. Notice that in the original sentence, "shun" is used without "from" and that the definition is "to keep away from."
